Plus, the outdoor terrace offers a beautiful setting to savor your meal while soaking in the San Diego sun.

Indulge in their signature dishes, particularly the luscious Baja Style Shrimp Bucket, featuring an impressive array of seasoned, large shrimp that caters to the heartiest appetites. For a feast fit for a king (or queen), try the Sea Of Cortez Bucket, where succulent lobster tails and sweet snow crab coalesce in a seafood lover’s dream. Each bucket comes laden not just with seafood but also includes tortillas, lime, rice, and beans for a true Baja experience.

If you’re in a mood to share, the Cabo Surf & Turf Platter offers a mouthwatering combination of garlic-butter basted lobster tails and char-grilled skirt steak, side by side with cilantro lime rice and ranchero beans. It’s an explosion of flavors that will have everyone at your table swooning with delight. And don’t overlook the sides! Treat yourself to the Mexican Street Corn, a delicious blend slathered with mayo, cotija cheese, and Baja seasonings that will leave your taste buds dancing.

As the reviews from satisfied customers reveal, dining at Rockin' Baja Lobster is consistently a joy. Victoria Martinez praised the shareable buckets so highly, noting how they bring an abundance of food including shrimp, lobster, and sides—ensuring no one leaves hungry. Another customer, L B, raved about the taco sampler filled to the brim with lavish fillings, highlighting the thoughtful recommendations from the staff which ensured their visit was a memorable one.

But it’s not just the seafood that impresses. The Fried Ice Cream is a dessert that Adrian Gonzalez referred to as “amazing,” perfect for rounding off your dining experience. While one customer expressed slightly less enthusiasm for the beans and salsas, the overall consensus remains: the freshness of the seafood is undeniable and truly enhances the dining experience.

Absolutely amazing food! We ordered the shareable bucket of food and split it between three people. It brought a large amount of food including shrimp, chicken, lobster, corn with cheese, tortillas, and even an individual bowl of rice and beans for each person. We were able to get more tortillas, limes, corn, and rice and beans if we desired. We definitely did not have any chance of leaving hungry from here because on top of everything else, the meal also included a fried ice cream dessert that was the refreshing sugar rush energy that I needed to walk around the beautiful Old Town surrounding this restaurant. Our waitress was the best, she happily answered all of our nonsense questions about the food and Old Town. I would recommend you eat here when coming to appreciate the history of the Old Town to reenergize with a savory and filling meal.

Thank you, Guillermo, who made our 1st visit there an adventure. Great recommendations and service. Taco sampler was so darn good (steak, lobster and shrimp). Tacos were literally packed to the top with meat. No useless fillers. We skipped the Kick Ass Sauce because we don't do hot sauce. The Mexican Street corn was wonderful and presented well. We will definitely be back.

Im not a seafood lover but my friend is, so we decided to check this place out. They definitely did NOT disappoint! From the host to our server Chris and the whole staff - friendly, professional and attentive. I’ve never left a restaurant with an empty plate before, however, this time, both me and my friend finished the whole meal! They have great options for people who don’t like seafood and some amazing options for people who do. Cocktails were also very very good!!! Absolutely recommend!!!

Great seafood spot with a great Mexican spin. The lobster and shrimp were fresh and cooked to perfection. The carne asada was delicious and tender with much flavor. Desert was great. Fried ice cream was amazing!! The sides were lacking in flavor on beans, rice, corn, and salsas were not spicy. Overall must try with family and friends!!!

I haven't rated a restaurant 5 star in a while but this definitely meets the standard. Went during happy at 3 pm on Friday. House Margarita was amazing, they did not hold back on the tequila. The lobster taco on the happy hour menu was the best I've had. All the palapa menu items were incredible and the lobster and shrimp were perfectly cooked and were brought out in less than 8 minutes. They have a killer self service salsa bar and everything was so fresh. Make me want to move to San Diego. Great place for families, friends and I was told that it is a great place for locals as well. Waiting staff were super friendly and attentive. Don't miss this place if you are in Old Town.

Used to Be My Favorite… But Service Has Slipped I’ve been coming here for years—usually with large parties to celebrate birthdays, milestones, and family gatherings. We used to love it. But our recent visit left us really disappointed. We had a party of 12, split pretty evenly between adults and kids. We ordered four buckets, extra chicken and Carne Asada (since some don’t eat seafood), plus separate entrees. When the soup and salads came out, they were mostly handed to the side with children and teens, leaving the adults without portions. No one asked where the food should go, and our server never came back to offer refills or check if we needed anything else. To make things worse, I had to get up and find utensils myself—and later had to track down an employee just to get crab crackers. For a place that’s used to hosting large parties, the lack of attentiveness was surprising. I did speak with the manager afterward—she was kind and apologetic, which I appreciated. But honestly, I expected some kind of gesture to acknowledge the inconvenience. Even a small offer like a free appetizer or drinks for a future visit would’ve gone a long way. We dine here about six times a year with big groups, and we’ve chosen other places lately—Cafe Coyote and Guadalajara—because this experience made us rethink things. It’s sad, because this used to be my go-to spot for celebrations. I hope they take feedback seriously and improve service for large parties. Loyal guests deserve better. I spent close to $1000 that included a good tip still.

Food was delicious everyone was happy. We had reservations and were seated right away. There is $7 valet for parking. Seating at the outdoor terrace was nice, good for large group 5+. Lobster roll was delicious and very filling. The tacos were overpriced; the meat was tender, although the shrimp in the taco is spicy. The fajita was good, and enough for two people to share since it comes with sides too. The most popular item out of the group were the appetizers: calamari was so delicious and crispy, and the oysters with the flavorful sauce it comes with. There is a salsa bar thats self serve, wide variety. They served chips when you are first seated. And they serve mexican cola and fanta for drinks if you ask. Good spot in Old Town, would come again.

I have never had a bad experience! Everytime I go to San Diego this is my go spot. This time I tried the El Gorda family platter. It was so much food for 4 people with plenty of leftovers. Everything was cooked and seasoned well.
